Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, na wschód przez Syberię docierający do Mongolii, Wysp Kurylskich i Japonii; notowany poza tym z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i obszarów wokół Morza Kaspijskiego. W Polsce najpospolitszy gatunek omawianego rodzaju, występujący od Bałtyku aż po Tatry, brak jednak jeszcze danych o jego rozmieszczeniu w niektórych krainach. Larwy odbywają rozwój w zmurszałym drewnie drzew i krzewów. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się w maju do sierpnia na kwitnących krzewach, bylinach i roślinach zielnych.
