Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, na południe sięga do północnych Włoch. W Polsce rzadko znajdowany, znany tylko z pięcia krain. Żyje w gniazdach i chodnikach borsuków i lisów, rzadziej królików. Na jesieni i w zimie spotykany również w gniazdach gryzoni w dziuplach drzew.
