Taxon description
Gatunek znany ze środkowej części Europy, Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i z Fennoskandii, gdzie dociera do koła podbiegunowego. W Polsce, prócz wyższych partii górskich, prawdopodobnie występuje na całym obszarze, choć brak jeszcze udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Występuje w podziemnych gniazdach i chodnikach różnych ssaków; w Puszczy Piskiej znaleziony w norze borsuka (Szujecki 1967). Niekiedy spotykany w ściółce, pod padliną, gnijącym sianem i w hubach.
