Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowej, zachodniej i środkowej Europie; poza tym notowany z Kaukazu. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, (na Śląsku Dolnym częściej poławiany) wykazany tylko z południowej części kraju. Wzmianki o występowaniu w Pucku, opierające się na pierwszej wiadomości sprzed przeszło stu lat (Lentz 1879) nie znalazły wiarygodnego potwierdzenia, a o zasiedleniu Pobrzeża Bałtyku wątpi A. Horion (1960). Występuje na łąkach i w lasach łęgowych — pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, sianem, słomą, ściętymi trzcinami i trawami, wśród opadłych, gnijących liści; niejednokrotnie spotykany również w kurnikach i w gniazdach kreta.
