Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, docierający na wschód przez Syberię do Mongolii, Sachalinu i Wysp Kurylskich. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest jeszcze znany z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla zarówno tereny nizinne, jak i górzyste. Poławiano go na różnych gatunkach drzew z rodzaju wierzba — Salix L.; w piśmiennictwie były podawane następujące gatunki: wierzba krucha — S. fragilis L., wierzba siwa — S. incana Schrk., wierzba szara — S. cinerea L. i wierzba uszata — S. aurita L. Bionomia tego chrząszcza i cykl rozwojowy nie są znane.
