Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1983:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej, środkowej i prawie całej północnej części Europy, na południe docierający do Hiszpanii północnej, Włoch i Bułgarii, poza tym notowany z Kaukazu. Wszędzie wykazywany jako pospolity. W Polsce oprócz wyższych partii górskich występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, nie notowany jest jednak jeszcze z wielu krain. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich. Żyje w wodach stojących na kamieniach i zanurzonych roślinach, również w strefie rozprysku wody; znajdowany często w napływkach popowodziowych.
