Gatunek rozsiedlony od Azji Środkowej przez Grecję aż do Jugosławii i Karyntii w Austrii. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadki, notowany tylko z Roztocza. Bionomia nie jest znana. Gatunek występujący na stanowiskach kserotermicznych, charakterystyczny dla lasostepów. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano na kwiatach różnych roślin, zwłaszcza gatunków z rodziny złożonych (Compositae).
