Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1987:
Gatunek zamieszkujący północną i środkową część Europy, na zachód docierający do wschodniej Francji, a na południe do Włoch północnych i Siedmiogrodu. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie w całym kraju prócz wyższych partii górskich, brak jednak jeszcze udokumentowanych danych o jego rozmieszczeniu w niektórych krainach. Zasiedla martwe, przegrzybiałe drewno drzew liściastych i iglastych oraz porastające na nich owocniki hub. Znajdowany też pod odstającą korą i w leżących na ziemi pniach i gałęziach. Larwy po dwukrotnym przezimowaniu przepoczwarczają się w lipcu. Chrząszcze odbywają diapauzę zimową.
