Taxon description
Gatunek holarktyczny, znany z prawie całej Europy prócz Wysp Brytyjskich, podawany też z północnej Afryki, Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej, Syberii oraz Ameryki Północnej U nas częściej spotykany w południowej części kraju na pogórzu i w górach, gdzie sięga do górnej granicy lasu. Żyje w żerowiskach larw owadów pod obluźnioną korą drzew iglastych i liściastych.
