Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony w Europie; zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żyje na młodych pędach między igłami różnych świerków, u nas znaleziony na Picea excelsa (Lam.) Lk. Nie jest odwiedzany przez mrówki. Produkuje duże ilości spadzi, która nie jest jednak zbierana przez pszczoły.
