Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek rozpowszechniony w zachodniej, południowej i środkowej Europie, ponadto notowany z dwu południowych prowincji Szwecji. Znajdowany wszędzie rzadko i sporadycznie. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk tylko w czterech krainach. Zamieszkuje nizinne i wyżynne obszary, występując w starych drzewach liściastych, zwłaszcza w dziuplastych pniach uprzednio zasiedlonych przez gnieżdżące się ptaki. Spotykany również pod obluźnioną korą, przy wyciekającym soku z drzew, wśród mchów na starych pniakach, a nawet w gniazdach mrówek z rodzaju Lasius F.
