Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich i północnej części Fennoskandii przez całą środkową Europę aż do północnej części południowej Europy, notowany również z Syberii. W środkowej Europie w miarę posuwania się na wschód coraz częściej spotykany, a w zachodniej Europie o wiele rzadszy i ograniczony przeważnie do położeń górskich. W Polsce, choć nie znany jeszcze z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze. Zamieszkuje tereny lesiste, gdzie zasiedla stare pnie i pniaki. Poławiany w próchnie, pod obluźnioną, zmurszałą korą, przy wyciekającym soku z drzew, w gnijących grzybach, ściółce, kompoście i pod różnego rodzaju szczątkami roślinnymi.
