Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, wykazywany z Azji Wschodniej, Iranu i zachodniej części Kazachstanu. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w zachodniej i południowej części kraju. Wiadomości sprzed przeszło stu lat o występowaniu na izolowanym stanowisku w Ełku winny być potwierdzone nowymi badaniami. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich, na suchych łąkach i w widnych zaroślach. Jako rośliny żywicielskie wymieniane są szałwia łąkowa — Salvia pratensis L. i szałwia omszona — S. nemorosa L. Larwy żerują w rdzeniu łodygi, drążąc chodnik o długości 6-12 mm.
