Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w zachodniej i środkowej Europie oraz w zachodniej części północnej Afryki, notowany również z południowej Szwecji i Finlandii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, znaleziony przed przeszło stu laty i dlatego występowanie u nas wymaga potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Warunki środowiskowe słabo poznane, poławiany na żarnowcu miotlastym — Sarothamnus scoparius (L.) Wimm.
