Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1995:

Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, w Szwecji sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe. Smolik hercyński jest notowany w Polsce głównie z obszarów wyżynnych i gór oraz z nielicznych stanowisk na niżu. M. Mazur (1994) podaje go, za T. Trellą (1934), z Grochowca koło Przemyśla, ale miejscowość ta leży poza naszą granicą. Bionomia poznana stosunkowo dobrze (Smreczyński 1972).
