Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w środkowej Europie, poza tym notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w południowych częściach Anglii i Szwecji, wschodniej Francji, północnych Włoszech i Siedmiogrodzie. Z Polski znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich. Spotykany przy wyciekającym soku z pni dębów, wierzb, topól i zwłaszcza brzóz, znajdowany również w chodnikach gąsienicy motyla trociniarki — Cossus sp.
