Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1985:

Rozprzestrzeniony od Wysp Brytyjskich, skrajnych prowincji północnych Fennoskandii i Półwyspu Kolskiego przez całą Europę Środkową aż do Francji, północnych Włoch, Albanii i Siedmiogrodu — najdalej na wschód wysuniętymi znanymi stanowiskami są Moskwa i Jarosławl. W Polsce poza Wybrzeżem Bałtyku notowany tylko z południowej części kraju. Występuje pospolicie na obszarach pagórkowatych i górzystych, docierając w Alpach do około 2200 m n.p.m., na niżu jest spotykany lokalnie i rzadko. Przeważnie jest poławiany na krzaczastych wierzbach nad brzegami rzek i potoków. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w kwietniu i są łowione do sierpnia, najczęściej w czerwcu.
