Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony od Francji, północnych części Włoch i Jugosławii oraz Rumunii przez całą Europę Środkową aż do Wysp Brytyjskich, południowych prowincji Fennoskandii i Karelii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Bionomia poznana niedostatecznie — w Austrii Dolnej postacie dojrzałe wyhodowano z licznych larw znalezionych w gnieździe kreta. Pojaw chrząszczy rozpoczyna się w kwietniu i trwa do lipca.
