Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie (nie wykazany z Fennoskandii), notowany również z Kaukazu i Syberii. Jego rozmieszczenie nie jest zbyt dokładnie znane, gdyż dawniej często mylono go z innymi gatunkami. Omyłkowo wykazany z okolic Koszalina przez A. Lüllwitza (1916), na podstawie błędnego oznaczenia Harpalus (Harpalus) rufitarsis (Duft.) (J. Makólski*). Wymagania ekologiczne prawie nie znane. Notowany z gleb piaszczystych i gliniastych.
